About Us

Building Trade Specialties, Inc. was established in New Mexico in 1992. The company is owned and operated by Ra & Audrey Patterson, husband, and wife team.

Ra comes from a multi-generation of contractors. Ra has over 40 years of experience working in the construction industry. Ra’s professional background includes a construction management degree, GB – 98 General Contractor’s license from the state of New Mexico, is currently a member of CSI (Construction Specification Institute) with a CDT (Construction Document Technician) certification and EPA RRP certified.

Building Trade Specialties, Inc. is AAMA certified and specializes in historical restoration of windows, doors, and other various woodwork restoration. Building Trade Specialties, Inc. prides ourselves in our putty glazing, woodwork repair, and weather tight sealing of historic windows. Our tradesmen have been doing this work throughout Santa Fe and the state of New Mexico since 1992.

Ra has been a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation for over 25 years and has been a long-time board member of the Historic Santa Fe Foundation. Ra was awarded the AGC 2008 Best Building Subcontractor Award for 322 Montezuma Avenue Santa Fe, NM 87501 and the recipient of the 2016 Santa Fe Heritage Preservation Award for 461 Acequia Madre Santa Fe, NM 87505: window, viga and door restoration work.
